Visite guidée: Mme Johns will give a tour of the Débuts web site and its resources (audio program & vocabulary soundtrack). Trouvez le lien à droite.
Practice material from Chapters 2-3 on the following sites.
1. Faites les activités "Vocabulaire" et "Structures" des chapitres 2 et 3. (Do at least 2-3 of each activity and check your answers. Come back to review these when studying for the test. There will be one section on the test directly from this site.) *Ne faites pas la Structure 3 du chapitre 3!
2. Faites l'activité sur les nationalités et les sports. It's a race! Bonne chance! (You need to be able to recognize the flags of different countries. Your handout from Tuesday's class may help. Also, le vélo is biking. You should recognize the other sports.)
3. Faites les mots croisés sur les nationalités. Attention à l'orthographe (spelling)!
4. Activités challenge: Faites l'activité sur les adjectifs et leur place. Rearrange the words to form a complete sentence.

French 1 homework due Friday, October 26:

Description d’une célébrité.

Write a paragraph or two to describe a celebrity that you either like or dislike using the vocabulary from Chapter 2. Use at least 10 adjectives in your description. Make sure they correctly agree with the subject in form. Use at least 5 verbs. Also remember the adverbs (toujours, souvent, parfois, rarement) and the different negatives.

As with all homework assignments unless otherwise stated, you may use your notes from class and your book for vocabulary and grammar help. This assignment will be graded on its content and language. You have two nights to complete this assignment, so begin it tonight and ask any questions you have tomorrow.

For example, start with: “J’adore Justin Timberlake.”
Or “Je déteste Justin Timberlake.”

*Remember the new homework policy: If you come to class without a completed homework assignment, you will have to step out of class to complete it and material and activities that you miss while doing so will be added to your homework for the following night. This can accumulate quickly, so stay on top of your daily homework assignments.

Extra credit

**Points supplémentaires (Extra credit): If you go to the Charlottesville Market on the Downtown Mall, turn in a summary of your experience (in French or English). What did you see? What did you buy? The market is open from 8am to noon every Saturday until the end of October.
If you would like your extra credit to count for the first quarter grade, you must turn your summary in this Monday, October 29.
